What do I do?

I generally throw myself into whatever I do.

And right now that’s making iPhone and iPad apps with AppBooks, but I also work as Tootable.

What’s that? It’s a place to draw the threads together, as I find myself enthused by all the possibilities and the rapid pace of mobile and computer technology.

When not getting distracted by all these things I try and get my head around, I find a way to ship something. But with Twitter, Facebook, G+, Knol, wikis, wave and all that stuff… it’s easy to get excited about the possibilities of starting all kinds of fun projects.

I also have an interest in writing and film. There are two of my projects on this site. They’re there to remind me to get out of the browser and work on something. I’m not going to kid myself that you’re going to read the text on those pages, so I’m going to recommend you check them out for the cool pics :-)

Who am I?

I’m currently living in two places trying to decide where to get my mail sent. In Alice, I live out of town in amongst a whole lot of buffel grass. In Yuendumu, I hang out at the Mt Theo Program.  2011 has been an exciting year now that the takeaway shop offers alternatives to fried chicken!

Other random things about me:

I used to have a really cool dog, but it ate my friend’s horse. His name was ‘Mampu’, which in Warlpiri means ‘gentle’ and ‘caring’. Despite the regrettable horse incident — and that he was a bull mastiff/ridgeback/pitubll cross — he was a very gentle soul.

I have absolutely no idea how to do anything on Windows computers. Have you ever tried to take a screenshot on one? But I like looking at them, they remind me of computers Apple used to make in the ‘90s.

I’m still struggling with the cake/pie question.

I spent about eight years studying at Uni before deciding it wasn’t really for me. But one day I got to wear this funny hat and can now put letters on either side of my name. But I don’t think Qantas are ever going to give me an upgrade. Wish I had known that earlier.

When faced with the choice of eating either animal on our national emblem, I always choose emu (if you follow the link, the real answer is ‘b/c they taste so good’).

My secret project is trying to work out how to convert a Kindle into an EtchaSketch. [Update, I think that’s been done… at least on the iPad]

So, if you’ve got this far, you should ping me on twitter @liamcampbell or drop me an email so we can swap some stories!
